Fashion Dresses (D12455, D13087, D13107)

Being put off by poor quality clothes which are bought online cheaply, I have decided to take the plunge to order higher-priced clothes which are assumed to be of better quality. However, things do not turn out as well as I thought it would be.

D12455 (+$12)

Stitched out of translucent non-stretchable fabric, this dress disappointed me, as it looked rather cheap. The fabric below the waistband seems odd and puffy. Though it's a lined dress, the translucency is hard not to realise. The exterior fabric exceeds the inner lining by around 4 inches, which makes the whole dress look kind of flimsy. The zipper at the side couldn't be zipped all the way up as well. I'm a size S, but I ordered size M based on their measurements and after which felt that I could have stuck with size S.

Where did all those good ratings on Gmarket come from? I mean, there should be more discerning reviews and higher expectations for dresses of this price range.

D13087 (+$12)

So this piece of dress looks way better on the model again. It's really crumpled and there is an obvious defect in the front design (as seen from the pictures below). I could have sent for refund, but I'm lazy to do so this time around. The material is shiny, somewhat resembling those of garbage bags, and is quite impermeable to air. It's annoying that the flare below the waistband is puffy like the black dress above. I don't like it, but I'll probably wear it some day.. if it ever comes.

D13107 (+$13)

Ok don't laugh at the way I pose for my pictures, I'm no model and not very creative you know? I particularly like this dress, as the non-stretchable material is soft and smooth to touch. Coupled with the cute buttons and intricate folds, the heart-shaped design at the chest area makes it sweet-looking. Don't be fooled by the decorative buttons though, it's just a pull-over dress so there is no buttoning or un-buttoning to be done to get it on.

Make a back turn and there's another adorable design that I found is unique and somewhat reminds me of a baby's romper. Despite the good design, the dress is made imperfect with a manufacturing defect on the right corner of the shoulder, where there's a fabric "horn" protruding out.

The delivery for these dresses took a long time, like 3 weeks. And at the end of the 3 weeks of wait, the seller informed me that they have no stock for two other dresses which I had ordered (a total of 5) and they wish to cancel my order. Those 2 dresses are one of the push-factors that made me splurge, and now they are nowhere to be seen. And no refund yet. But look on the bright side, the seller offers different sizes, free delivery if >$100 (easily hit), true-to-picture items and loads of variety.

DB Fashion Dresses (D8109G, D8071P, D7342P, D3032W)

It has been a long time since I went into a shopping frenzy. And now the sleeping dragon has awaken, a whole line of apparel has been filed for reviews. The first in line comes from DB Fashion, a seller from gmarket that promises apparels at rock-bottom prices.. at rock-bottom quality.

Let's start with the best (and the most expensive) of the lot: D8109G (+$8):

The material cotton fabric is soft but don't be fooled, it's rather heat-trapping. I particularly liked the pastel color (blue-green) that goes well with the pearly buttons. The dimensions on the top part of the dress is small relative to the flare bottom, so if you are just a little teeny bit endowed, you might reveal unnecessary details to the public eye from the side.
When I first wore it to work, it drew comments like "hey you looked like a dancer", and I drew a puzzled look.

D8071P (+$4):

Oh no, this is a disaster. Totally unlike the image shown in the website. Oversized. Weird "lace" sleeve. Two golden buttons at the chest area suggestive of somethings.. Enough said, a definite no-no and a refund case for me.

D7342P (+$5):

My initial intent was to get something to wear to work, and the image on the website seemed promising until reality set in upon its delivery. This one's really sheer, and the jewels look cheap. Hey wait a minute, jewels? I thought those were pearls on the website?
Sheer disappointment.

D3032W
(+$5):
Honestly, I did not know how this got replaced with my original order of D7088B which costs like $1 more and is black instead of white. The material is thick and the color a pure white, quite a good bargain I would say, but I'm determined to get my original order back so I contacted the seller for exchange.

Suspicion arose when the seller claims that D7088 is out of stock, and yet they are still selling D7088 online. Anyway, the seller promised to refund my postage and item, so I sent it back. Till now, I only receive an empty promise and no refund done. Bravo.

Fruitofvine Essential Oils

I got these from ebay. Ended up the sample (Citrus splash) smelled way better than the Orange Blossom which I had bought. It's a good personal touch that the seller had a handwritten note, a kind gesture that many sellers ought to learn from.
