Vogue Dresses (B9493, R205, White dress)

I'm over the moon! Apart from all the online shopping, I've done retail shopping for clothes at Vogue again! Here's today's haul:

B9493 Blue dress ($12.50)

This blue body-hugging dress might seem average upfront, make a back turn and it will change your perception. 

Intricately-linked together, eight straps converge at the thoracic region of your spine to give a sophisticated look. Nu-bra recommended.

Despite being non-sheer and smooth, the dress comes with a black inner lining. See that the seams are neatly sewn in, good handiwork! 

R205 Flowery dress ($12.50)

I wasn't really keen on getting this dress but K seemed to like it and that the other dresses on sale are so-so so okay, I'll get it. I like the overall design - sweet patterned dress with smocked waistline and frill-like bottom. I am not very sure what the patterned design is, but it looks kinda like blue ribbons/flowers gone awry, coupled with some circular curly whirly things. 

There is a zip at side which appear uncalled for since I just slip on the dress from the top. This dress is not suitable for those with heavy tops, as the top part is rather small. Unlike the previous dress, a white translucent lining is a must for this one as the material is slightly sheer. Good sewing as seen.

White dress ($10)

Priced competitively at $10, this white satin dress gives many fashion boutiques a run for their money. When I first saw it, it appeared weird to me to have a band connecting the two straps at the chest area. But after I've put it on, well, it didn't turn out as bad as I thought, apart from the fact that it squeezed out too much of my armpit fat =X

Even though the fabric is thick, an inner lining is present, and all well-sewn. One has to be careful with this kind of fabric and not scratch it, to avoid those nasty lints.

 I bought this when it was on sale, so it's pretty worth it. The quality is smooth and silky, resembling that of Feythcloset's dress. However, I do not find the back frills (left picture) very well-sewn as they sort of gathered too much together. The 2nd picture is the front view, which is somewhat similar to the back one with less gathers. I wore this dress for a presentation and my dear friend commented that I looked like Unity's auntie cashiers, omg.

I cant believe it, I bought the wrong item AGAIN =.- so now I have two Hello Kitty dust caps! 

It is interesting to find that while all the dust caps had plastic appendages, there's one "black duckling" with a metal one. And no surprising, the design is not the same as the one listed on gmarket. Nevertheless, the quality is not bad for most of them.

Feythcloset (007 Annebelle Empire Waist )

This is quite a long dress, pretty suitable for work and play. The material is smooth and silky, and requires minimal ironing. The chest area is a bit baggy, especially if one is not well-endowed. Good buy on the whole!

BF Market Jeans (v stitch-blue L, slim skinny-beige L)

I dread purchasing skinny pants, as my calves are usually too big in relation to my size. Jogging doesn't slim that area down, in fact, it becomes bigger with exercise o.O If only those fats could have been deposited somewhere else higher up..  This inheritance issue is so bothersome. 

Despite my apprehension, I could not resist getting some jeans from BF Market. After the seller's own discount and my coupons, it turned out to be only $10.90 for the jeans and an unbelievable $4.90 for the beige pants with courier mail! 

V Stitch Blue L ($8.40)

Timmmmbeerrrr~ I look like a lumberjack in this outfit, don't I? Being high-waisted and thick, this pair of jeans added bulk to my hip/bum area, which is already full of bulk. Not recommended for those with large hips, unless public gawking is desired. I personally felt that it wasn't suitable for my body shape.

As usual, the knee regions are pretty tight due to my calves, but it is still quite comfortable to bend down for a short time period. The length is long enough to impart wrinkled folds near the ankles which seems adorable for someone who's 1.57m. If desired, it can be folded up too.

Seems like BB Jeans China values good quality! V Stitch Blue resembles a pair of stretchable jeans with rubber banding instead of the usual button and zip. 

Exceptional sewing and clean cuts. I have one problem with it though, that is the colour runs.. bad. After 6-7 rinses, the washing liquid remained blue! 

Slim Skinny Beige L ($2.40)

Slim Skinny Beige did not turn out as what I had expected. With a yellow undertone, it has a shorter rise, is less stretchable and made with thinner fabric than V Stitch (which means it's tighter at the knee regions for me). Lengthwise, it is similar. This cut is pretty small, so it's not suitable for those with bigger-sized bottoms --> stick with flare skirts to hide those fats!

Akin to V Stitch, it is made from BB Jeans China and sewn well at the seams. Between this two pairs, I prefer this one for myself as it is more space-saving in my cupboard, and less warm in a tropical climate.

This time, I'm very pleased with the quality of the items, which came folded neatly and packed into a well-sealed compact plastic bundle. So much better than many of those flimsy letter envelops: 

M127 Elise Laces (+$6.80)

Ops, I think I wore this the other way around - the ribbon side should be at the back haha. Not really light-skyblue as described, this dress is actually more of a pastel mint green. The lacy upper region reveals much of the bra I was wearing, so perhaps a tube might be necessary.

Material-wise, it is a typical cotton fabric, with polyester lace. The actual color look most accurate in this picture above.

The seller was kind to attach a thank-you note, and to urge the buyer to write reviews in exchange for useless g-stamps.

Tinxi Tube Tops (White, Black)

Recently, I have bought quite a number of dresses (those kind at Bugis where they don't allow you to try or those online ones) which somehow require a form of cleavage coverage. I've tried wearing a spaghetti top inside but do not really like wearing extra in Singapore's hot and humid weather. These tubes are quite a good solution, you'll see why.

Mesh-like material at the back to allow air flow and intricate lace designs certainly make these tubes appealing to us people who melt under heat. The razor-back design makes the tube feel securely fitted to one's body.

However, please be gentle to this tubes... The straps broke under the mighty force of my washing machine. That is of course, an incident that occurred a few months of wear and tear.

Anyway, I have seen the exact same tubes being peddled at slightly higher prices on Gmarket here, so if you don't like waiting eons for your purchase and like post-sales service, go for the local one.
