HP F2480 Printer

I'm an enthusiastic online buyer, ready to pounce on any deals which are (often too) reasonably-priced. This is a classic example. Priced at ~$70 with free courier delivery, this AIO printer is too good a deal to miss.

Unpacking the huge box, here's what I'd gotten:

Everything that's needed were all inside (I'd read about customer reviews that lamented that there were no cables/adapter for this printer). Specifications-wise, it spans 437.5 x 291 x 162 mm , and promised an adequate up to 20ppm for black prints and up to 16 ppm for colour prints. These are pretty much what I had considered for my printers. All instructions were clearly laid out in the pamphlets.

The support software (HP Solution Centre) offers a good platform for you to "understand" your printers needs, eg, it tells you the amount of ink left and any paper jam. It's user-friendly too, with a simple interface and straightforward commands:

I've tried their new HP Web Printing which only works on Internet Explorer, and found it quite useful if I wish to only print certain elements on the website and position them anywhere on an A4 paper.

Here's a sample print-out:

I'm quite satisfied with my purchase on the overall. The only qualms that I have with it is that it only came with introductory print cartridges that ran dry after 25 prints, and the HP software would bug me to purchase their original really expensive ink cartridges. Another thing, like all my previous HP printers, there would be the problem of the printer appearing offline and one would not be able to print unless the system is rebooted.

By the way, my previous HP D2380 was working fine, just that the print alignment and quality seemed to be slightly off. I think it's due to the fact that my refilled cartridges are too old. So I traded it for $8 at Cashconverters who immediately put it on the sale shelves for $18.
